Why Greer?
Greer has lived her life in North Carolina and has dedicated herself to public service of the state she loves.
As a working mother of two young children, she and her husband William know first-hand the struggles of working families who want the best education for their children, a peaceful retirement for their parents, and the highest possible quality of life for themselves.
It's time to start planning for the future and working together to see that future realized.

Why I’m running
I know the needs of working families. Mothers and fathers don’t stay up at night worrying about divisive social issues. They worry about paying for quality health care for themselves, their children and their parents. They worry about making sure their kids are receiving the best possible education. They worry about finding and keeping a good job in today’s changing economy and they worry about ensuring the place they live in is as vibrant and thriving as it can be.
It’s important for me, as a mother, to teach my children about taking the initiative to change the world. And it struck me that I can’t tell them to give part of their allowance to a needy child or give up their Saturdays to pick corn for the food bank if I’m not willing to do all I can to help my community. So I talked it over with my husband and my children and we decided as a family that this was something I should do. We decided that our friends, our family and our neighbors needed real leadership that would be effective.
What Will I do?
- I want to remove barriers to opportunity, so every member of our community has the opportunity to succeed. But when we are worried about health care, child care, taxes, and crime our opportunities are undermined.
- If we are to defend families we have to defend the things they care about. That’s why my campaign will focus on building economic strength for small and large businesses, providing effective 21st century education, creating vibrant, livable communities and providing affordable health care for families and businesses.
As a member of the General Assembly, I will work with others to improve our state. The answers will never be found if we do not work with each other. The answers will only be found when we work together, putting our partisian opinions behind the best interest of our families, friends and neighbors.
